Avaya IP Office Release 11.0 Overview
Avaya IP Office Release 11.0 extends Avaya`s innovation and influence in the Cloud telephony space. Release 11.0 delivers greater resilience, value and security through a wide range of endpoints, and fully integrated, resilient desktop and mobile clients that are easy to use. The Avaya IP Office provides a single architecture for both premises-based and cloud-delivered telephony deployments.
Over the last 5 years the communications industry has changed dramatically due to the proliferation of cloud-based applications, IoT and web conferencing. Avaya Release 11.0 aims to
keep pace with this evolving landscape of communications. Many existing Avaya customers still reply on the solid solutions and features they invested in 5 years ago but the reality is that these businesses and their customers needs have probably changed in this time.
R11.0 supports Avaya`s ground-breaking Equinox platform which offers unparalleled unification of your communications. Equinox puts the UC in the applications, browsers, and devices that people use every day. Avaya R11.0 also supports the new Vantage and J100 and Vantage Series phones.

Improved security and resiliency
Avaya IP Office R11.0 provides high availability and a secure connection without the having to manage additional servers in your network. Different locations may have automatic backup, active calls stay connected, no idle hardware needed. Release 11.0 sees the introduction of WebRTC Gateway resiliency with IP Office Select, this provides High Availability (HA) to WebRTC users.
The primary recording/archiving solution in R11.0 is Avaya Media Manager. Media Manager in R11.0 enforces the migration of Contact Recorder data as part of an upgrade to R11.0. The search capabilities of Media Manager have been improved for both the administrator and user in R11.0. (Contact Store hasn`t been supported for a number of years and there is no migration of Contact Store data supported in R11.0.)
To provide a simpler and better user experience, the new IP Office Web Client WebRTC based client that facilitates audio, video, Instant Messaging and Presence based collaboration between different users of a business in either a Chrome browser-based environment (Windows or MacOS) or as a standalone Windows client.
The new J169 and J179 IP phones will be supported on R11.0. These great new IP handsets address the need for everyday communications. The Vantage Basic software client is also supported on Release 11 and will introduce for the first time the all glass Vantage device to the UK. Avaya IP Office release 11 will also see the introduction of the Avaya Equinox client on the Avaya IP Office. Equinox brings your video, voice, conferencing, presence and many other UC and communication technologies onto a single interface that operates seamlessly across multiple devices.
Simplified Installation, Administration and Support
IP Office R11.0 will contain features aimed at making installation both faster and simpler. New installation wizards will minimise the time and effort taken by an Avaya qualified engineer to set up handsets and other devices.
Release 11`s Cloud Operations Manager (COM) provides multi-customer management capability via a single unified management portal which is capable of admin and management of up to 3000 IP Office nodes and 1000 customer instances. The COM tool is focused on Cloud deployments and may also be used with Server Edition and IP Office Select deployments.
