Avaya and RingCentral, two industry leaders in the Telephony, Unified Communications and Contact Centre spaces, have announced an exciting strategic partnership that looks set to strengthen the position of both companies.
The communications industry has seen a massive shift towards Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) and Contact Centre as a Service (CCaaS) in recent years and the Avaya and RingCental announcement looks set to harness the strengths of both companies in order to gain more market share.
Every credible study to come out in recent years has shown that more and more businesses are relying on UCaaS. Similar studies have shown that businesses that operate a Contact Centre are increasingly relying on cloud based solutions over on premise ones.
Why is the partnership being so well received?
The below image shows the most recent Gartner Magic Quadrant for Contact Centres. Gartner have once again placed Avaya as an industry leader.
Avaya have always invested heavily in research and development, and it is evident when assessing the technical superiority of their products. The launch of their "Equinox" and "Spaces" products have added industry leading solutions to the Unified Communications section of their portfolio.
In addition to this Avaya have made great steps in moving their telephony and UC products into the cloud space, and with great results.
So why partner with RingCentral? Well, if Avaya is a market leaders in the Contact Centre space, then RingCentral could certainly claim the equivalent mantle in the UCaaS space.
The below image shows RingCentral`s position as a leader in the UCaaS space for the last 2 years. Their rise has been nothing short of meteoric.
When you consider the strong position of both Avaya and RingCentral in the Contact Centre and Unified Communications market places and the crossover of both businesses, then the recent partnership that has been announced makes a lot of sense. By working together both businesses can build a synergistic relationship that leverages each other strengths.
